Maelok the Dreadbound

This is probably one of my worst paintjobs after starting the hobby again last year.

There are still many things to be fixed, but I'm done for now. My inspiration with this is over. It was in paint removal once already, and I'm tempted to do it again.. there was some roughness left, which is not that visible actually, but knowledge is pain.

I'll leave it like this for now, and maybe return to it later when my inspiration with the model returns. I should paint some Games Workshop stuff anyway.. Funny enough, I think the photos are pretty accurate this time.

Insanely difficult model to paint.. truly a humbling experience.

Selling Infinity

Nobody is playing Infinity in my area, and I'm too lazy to have the trouble to arrange something.

Tharn Wolf Rider WIP

I've been posting some WIPs recently. Here's another one. I started to paint some Hordes again as we have a "slow grow" Journeyman league going on. I already painted Warpwolf Stalker, Argus, Argus Moonhound, pKaya, eKrueger and Shadowhorn Satyr. They are gaming pieces which are my usual standard (= nothing special), so I think I won't post anything else about them - also given my current situation of bad photography equipment.

These raiders are rather okay casts, but the sculpts are fantastic methinks. First one for color scheme, and I think I'll keep it. Still tons of work to be done, but I'm not in a hurry with these. I only have two at the moment, so I still should buy the "min unit" box to complete a unit of five.

Necromancer 2.0

Better image. After taking these I fixed the paintjob a bit. It's a gaming piece, so maybe not necessary but getting a clearer image, I saw what was wrong with the miniature.

Meatpuzzle

My first fantasy football team. Usable at least in Blood Bowl. The team is supposed to represent team Necromantic and is called 'Meatpuzzle'.

I'm not entirely happy with the paintjob, but it was a quickie and an excuse to update my blog. Once again, I've been painting a lot, but as you can see my photography environment/equipment hasn't improved. Thus, more regular updates have to wait. Maybe during spring I'll start posting weekly again.

PS. People saying Mantic minatures being "better" than Games Workshop products should seriously re-examine their Mantic products and think again. Yes, some Mantic sculpts are good or even superior, but the casting quality is WAY behind current Games Workshop standard. As playing figures Mantic products serve "okay", but if one would want to use them for showcase painting, I'd suggest to look somewhere else.
